Loose skin driving me crazy

Recommended Posts

As long as I was fat, I was hard as a rock. Now that I have lost 61 lbs I have turned flabby. I wave goodby to someone and am apt to get injured by the flapping skin on my upper arms. I am sure I am not the only one with this problem. Those of you who have lost a lot of weight, will this ever get firm again. I am going to a gym, lifting weights and doing cardio several times a week, but I seem to just be getting more like Jello every day. Please tell me there is hope in the end.

I'm 56, so I don't expect anything to be firm again, LMAO. That's one of the reason's I really don't care if I lose any more weight or not.

The only thing worse than looking at fat, is looking at loose skin :omg: .

The wings under the arms I figure are a combination of age and loss of weight, but the cheeks (on my face) sagging, yuk. The fat use to keep all the wrinkles ironed out. :o

THATS FOR SURE ON THE FACE WRINKLES, Will not look too closely in the mirror anymore. I just don't think some places are going to firm up like they used to:

Arms haven't

I KNEW the boobs wouldn't

Butt not so much

upper thighs and inner thighs not so much

BUT I GOT SOME KICK A$$ CALF MUSCLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :o

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
