atelux17 135 Posted July 29, 2012 So I've been denied 2x now, once because they said I was suddenly an inch taller than I ever have been. This time I made it in to see the surgeon. I called the surgeon's office to see if they had submitted to my insurance & they said they do not submit until after the Nut(ritionist) sees me. Earliest date to see her is Oct 29th! She only works one day a week! I feel this is so unfair& they are denying me access to healthcare. There's no one else i can see. I was going to stay at my job if I knew I'd be approved, but it will be another 4 to 6 months before I even know. Planning self pay options.
prettysleeved1 173 Posted July 29, 2012 Ask if you can see a different nutritionist. My insurance didn't cover the nutrition consult so I could have seen whatever nutritionist I wanted. Luckily, the one my doctor uses works full-time. It was only $140.
Argnewcan 3 Posted July 29, 2012 Well that sure is annoying. It doesn't sound like this office really wants your business if they employ a nut who only works one day a week. If you go self pay, I have a feeling they will offer you an appointment much sooner than October. Insurance companies don't pay fast like individuals do. I was self pay and from seminar to procedures was about two months.
Izuri 428 Posted July 29, 2012 I would see if you could see another NUT. For my psych eval I couldn't get into the one my doctor recommended quickly, so I found another one in the area and that worked fine. They just wanted to see that I'd completed the requirement.
