KikiCC 83 Posted July 29, 2012 So as my menu expands, I've noticed that is harder to get the Protein in. Today I had ham w low fat fetta cheese on an ultrathin half of a small pita. Since I need to chew until is completely pureed, I was a quarter through and I wasn't enjoying it anymore. I was 'tired' and eating the whole thing seemed daunting. I got rid of it and made myself the equivalent of protein grams w a shake. It was much better. Same thing happened yesterday w/ a quarter cup of mini shrimp and avocado. The food sits well in my tummy. It just seems like so much work to eat anything other than yogurt, Protein Shakes, cottage cheese, and lentils. I am 3 weeks out. Has this happened to anyone? I have tried a soft egg for two days now and I end up not eating it and go get a protein shake.... Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S using VST

I'm also 5 days post-op (well 6 now) and I can't have pureed foods for another week. I bought a bunch of organic baby food before hand that is now in the freezer because I can't eat it yet. Avealina 14 Posted July 29, 2012 I am noticing the same thing. It just seems like such a hassle to eat anything anymore. Although, I'm starting to enjoy cooking a bit, the process of eating just is Daunting! I'm also noticing since I am not 7 weeks out, and can and have been adding solid foods, that I'm even farther away from my daily Protein goals than I was when I was on puree and liquids right after surgery. Any advice anyone has on this topic would be great! Maybe I'll just stick with drinking a few Protein Shakes a day and only eating one meal a day to be able to keep up my protein intake. I think that's the reason I've stalled out a bit on my weight loss right now.
Avealina 14 Posted July 29, 2012 Oh and as to the baby food, I tried a few jars of that, and it was so bland, that it made me vomit. I just couldn't tolerate it at all!
aviiva 140 Posted July 29, 2012 I am almost 4 months out and have a Premier Protein shake for Breakfast everyday to make sure I get my Protein in if I had to depend on only food I don't think I would get enough protein I aim for about 60_ 80 grams a day and usually make at least 70 Sent from my SPH-D700 using VST
