This past Wednesday I had my pschyology Evaluation. I just received my letter in the mail. I am very diappointed and mad. I am 30 and disable due to lupus and RA. I did not like the pschyologist to begin with. She kept saying if I exercised I would feel better and my diseases will go away. That is so far from the truth. Well she denied me for 3 months, and saids I need counseling before she will approved me for surgery. Because I need to have a establishing and maintaining appropriate exercise routine. I can not ever have a routine due to my illnesses. If I feel good I will do exercises.

Don't stress. I would call and speak with your surgeon...there may be a way to bypass that due to your debilitating diseases.

Was she a dr recommend by your dr office?

Well, I would still address it with the surgeon. You as the patient also have the right to call her and ask her to clarify the type of program she means for you. Maybe it is something she recommends for everyone.

My surgeon's office has a mandatory program that starts 6 wks post op for 6 wks. I was told that they are know having patients do it before surgery now. This program is geared to each patient's ability. I have seen many patients at the office with wheelchairs and walkers. They would not be able to do traditional exercise until well after their surgery if not longer.

Good luck & remember to be your own advocate. If this office ends up not being the best than now would be the best time to find out not after surgery.

Best wishes!!
