Okay so I was sleeved almost 3 Weeks ago. I have been feeling a lot better these last few days, but yesterday and today I have this internal burning sensation near the largest incision on my abdomen when I turn a certin way or when I go from sitting to standings and standing to sitting. I stared my thick liquids or full liquids yesterday also and have been starting to do things around the house (dishes, laundry and some bending).so i'm not sure if its just my stomach adjusting or stretching? I can only eat 1-2 ounces of something at a time though. Is this normal??

I had the occassional burning sensation on a couple of incision sites, but it was random and didn't last long, so I didn't panic. As long as the sites don't look infected, you should be okay. As for the food portions, I am 9 weeks out and STILL can only eat 1-2 ounces of anything. Some days I can't even eat that much, so I supplement with Protein Shakes.< /p>

I had the same thing, I am 7 weeks post-op today, and it went away around week 5. They explained it to me as that where the removed the stomach so it had the most healing to do. It was one of those things where I was so uncomfortable and then one day it was just gone!

But its not that actual incision. Its more internal burning. Is this what you had too?

The way it was explained to me is that the large incision has a deep stitch. Mine feels tight as it is healing. Because they had to cut deeper into your muscle at that location to remove the stomach, they had to apply a stitch or two to support closing the muscle layer.

You can always call the nurse at the dr office....I've called twice about two issues and they are there to help with questions.

Hope you feel better soon!

I had a similar sensation that started near that incision and shooter toward my navel. I was told by my surgeon it was some nerve flare up and that it would go away in a couple of weeks. sure enough it did. Howevet double check with your doctor.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
