You should call your surgeon. You do not want to get dehyrdated. It is not fun. Your body needs that Protein and hydration to heal a large wound (your stomach). Good luck to you.

let your surgeon's office know how you are feeling! dehydration is not a good thing. I could not drink the required 64oz but I was able to get 32oz in plus the Protein Drinks (16oz) SF pops, 2oz yogurt or Jello or pudding. Really hope you feel better...

I was the same way. I could drink about 1/2 of a Water bottle a day. I did not have any Protein or Vitamins for the first 3 weeks. Doctor said to keep trying the Protein powders. Nobody wanted to believe that the smell of that stuff made me want to vomit. Greek yogurt does too.

So for all those weeks I felt like a big pile of crap. Then suddenly at 4 weeks when I was able to eat regular food it all got better like overnight. It will get better!

I'm 4 weeks out, trying pureed foods, always make me nauseated. having a very hard time getting my Water in. cant quite figure out the schedule I should be on. When to take my pills, when to take my Protein, when to drink...I don't like how my stomach feels. Cant wait until this stage is over.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
