Back~To~Amy 307 Posted July 27, 2012 ? there are no staples to remove I second this question. I've never heard of staples that have to be removed with a VSG.
lessofmeismore 1,405 Posted July 27, 2012 The staples are titanium and they are permanent.
tonibugg 64 Posted July 27, 2012 If they remove the staples your food would float around in there! LOL
BPC 15 Posted July 27, 2012 My surgeon use staples on your abdomen.
Amom2twins 58 Posted July 27, 2012 Are you having open surgery or laparascopic?
Back~To~Amy 307 Posted July 27, 2012 My surgeon use staples on your abdomen. My mom has had other abdominal surgery more than once and prefers staples to sutures as they come out easier.
Finding MeMe 204 Posted July 27, 2012 It sounds like his surgeon is not doing the surgery laposcopically (sp) so he will have one big incision.
BPC 15 Posted July 27, 2012 Maybe nobody understands what I'm asking or talking about. My surgeon puts like 6 holes in your stomach and does the surgery life everyone else does. Don't they have to seal up those holes somehow?
tara1021 13 Posted July 27, 2012 My incisions were glued. No staples or sutures.
drewmon 7 Posted July 27, 2012 Hi there. I had mine done laparoscopically and they did use staples to suture the incisions. It was a little painful when they were removed but I was able to talk through it. Some people have almost no pain. I guess I'm a baby.
tonibugg 64 Posted July 27, 2012 My incisions were dermabonded and stitched from the inside with the exception of where the drain was. I just kept band aids on them until they completely healed =) Hope that helps! 2 ThickChocolate and unknown54678997 reacted to this
