IrishEyes 59 Posted September 13, 2012 @mrsnellie, congrats! This may be a strange question but exactly what are you experiencing that's amazing?? I see that a lot and have been curious about details. I am preop, surgery is 9/21, and would LOVE to know details on what is to come. I know everyone is different and nothing is guaranteed but curious anyway...

MrsNellieC 23 Posted September 14, 2012 I FEEL amazing!!!!!!!! I definitely do not feel like I had a major surgery just a week ago!!! The cravings are GONE! I haven't even considered a carbonated drink. I have been baking and cooking for my family and I don't want any of it. It's a very strange feeling!!! 3 AngelBaby, Cinders and IrishEyes reacted to this
MrsNellieC 23 Posted September 14, 2012 The best advice I would give anyone would be..... DON'T PRESS THE PAIN PUMP if you came bare it.... The meds make you sick and not able to drink the required amount of liquid to go home. I didn't need the pain meds at home. 1 IrishEyes reacted to this
suepeeps 230 Posted September 14, 2012 So... I have a hard time drinking an entire Protein shake. I usually drink 1/2 for a morning snack and the other 1/2 for a snack later. Do any of you do this? or can you drink a whole shake? ?? I just get so full!! I can easily drink any Clear liquids. NO problem!
MrsNellieC 23 Posted September 14, 2012 That's exactly what I can do!!!! Half for morning snack and Half for afternoon snack..... 1 suepeeps reacted to this
IrishEyes 59 Posted September 14, 2012 I wonder if that is why my surgeon doesn't have his sleeve or band patients on a pain pump. He only does it for bypass patients. Before reading your post I really WANTED the pump. Now I know its best I don't. Thanks for the tip!
MrsNellieC 23 Posted September 14, 2012 Don't over analyze either..... Your Doctor will know best 1 IrishEyes reacted to this
Susan 2.0 278 Posted September 21, 2012 Sept24' date=' with Dr. Heider in Lake Norman, NC [/quote'] It's just around the corner for you. I just completed my workshop with Denise & Amanda over the phone today (I'm in Raleigh). I'm scheduled for Oct 15 with Dr Heider & then 2 weeks recovery with family in Belmont. Just found out today I have to lose 5% of my weight during the 2 weeks of Optifast - makes me think maybe I should start early, just to be safe!! Good Luck to you. I hope to stay in touch since there aren't a lot of Heider patients on this board.
