llromano 0 Posted July 26, 2012 I am eight weeks post op today. I have only lost 36 lbs including preop liquids. I think I am doing everything I am supposed to be..... 60 - 90grams of Protein a day, plenty of fluids, moderate exercise three days a week.... I've lost VERY LITTLE in the last four weeks. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG???? I am seeing changes in my clothes but not on the scales!
Amom2twins 58 Posted July 26, 2012 I would try walking briskly everyday to start out with. I'm sure your you will see a change in the scale if you get some exercise. That really helped me.
Butterthebean 8,146 Posted July 26, 2012 Also, what was your starting weight? You may not want to say, but remember the more weight you have to lose, the faster it is likely to come off. How much are you exercising? How much are you eating? Not enough calories could be holding you back as much as too much. High glycemic foods in your diet will sabotage weight loss. If your eating any, stop. I think it's great that you've noticed the difference in inches in spite of the fact that the scale isn't moving. Isn't that more important. Hang in there, it will move again soon. And when it does it will hurry to catch up with all the hard work you've been doing. 2 Benjammin and lessofmeismore reacted to this
traceyinflorida 499 Posted July 26, 2012 I just saw my doctor today (7 weeks out) and he said a 3 pound per week weight loss is great. I don't know how much of your weight loss was from your pre-op, but if you divide 36 by eight weeks, you are losing 4.5 lbs a week. Granted, you may have had a larger initial weight loss and then slower lately (same for me) so it seems really slow, but if you average it out...you are doing great! If your clothes are fitting looser and you are losing inches, then everything is going in the right direction! Hang in there! 1 lessofmeismore reacted to this
