Is it really necessary to take Vitamins throughout the whole day - every two hours? I realize that Iron and Calcium should not be taken together, but taking them every two hours is really a pain. Anyone have an opinion?

I've never heard of taking them every two hours. This was instructed by your doctor? I was told to take a chewable in the morning and in the evening, separate from my Calcium due to the Iron. Now I just take them once in the morning, calcium in the evening.

I don't take em every two hours either. I take what I need in the day with my food to help absorbtion. I also was slacking with my Calcium but then broke my ankle a few weeks ago so I am trying to be super good wtih taking it as I don't want to break another bone ever again,.

I don't take them that way, either. I take a chewable multi (I switched to a chewable prenatal a while ago and like it much more) in the morning with my food. I take my Iron supplements before bed, like suggested by my doctor. I do B12 injections once a month.

I don't think it matters when or how you take them, so long as you're taking them and they're being absorbed. I did not take my vites seriously in the beginning and was really feeling fatigued, forgetful and just plain cruddy sometime after a year out. Once I went to the doc we realized I was very low on B12 and Iron, and since I've been on a new iron supplement and the B12 shots, I'm feeling great.

I take one multiple a day. Every two hours seems a bit extreme! You can overdose and do your body damage with Vitamins so it may pay to double check the instructions.

What kind of Vitamins are you talking about.

You do need to spread Calcium out so that you're not taking all of it at once. We're supposed to have 1500 mg a day, 500 at a time. You can't absorb more than 500 at a time. You also need to make sure it's calcium citrate, not calcium carbonate.

Iron should not be taken within 2 hours of calcium. You can take calcium with a mulit though, and take Iron separately. Iron is also absorbed better if taken with vit C. Mine has vit C right in it, It's from Bariatric Advantage.

Why citrate and carbonate??

calcium citrate is absorbed MUCH easier than carbonate. It's usually a bit more expensive, but well worth it.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
