MsDallasSleever 65 Posted July 25, 2012 Hello All, I am on day one of seven of my liquid pre-op diet. Is there a post or website that has a lot of different options and reviews for Protein supplements whether powder or pre-mixed? I know this question has probably been asked a million times but if anyone could shed some light on what they found worked for them I would be very appreciative. I just tried the Atkins Advantage shake and I don't care for it.
ugot2laff 35 Posted July 25, 2012 I'm on day 4 of 10 day liquid diet. I use the Premier Protein shakes from costco. They have vanilla and chocolate. I use the chocolate and mix in a blender with ice and a squeeze of lemon juice and a little splenda. It's very filling. Other then that it's Water, crystal light and I made a big pot of chicken noodle Soup for my husband and I just drink the broth, which tastes very good and is filling. If you feel light headed and dizzy at all, drink more Protein. The premier shakes have 2 gm of sugar and 30 gm of protein. They are the only ones I've tried that tastes the best. Good luck to you!! 2 JewelJ and MsDallasSleever reacted to this
KS Fort Worth 86 Posted July 25, 2012 I used BariEssentials from Dr. Kim's office. I chose skim milk instead of Water to mix it with. I also found using flavored extracts helps break the monotony. I tried coconut, raspberry, orange, and almond. I wouldn't want to be on those forever, but it was doable. I found orange to be the strongest, 1/8 tsp was plenty. The others I just eyeballed a splash.

jdmama911 224 Posted November 19, 2013 I will warn you...your taste buds may change after surgery. Mine did, and I ended up wasting a ton of $$ because I bought all these Protein Shakes, powders and I couldn't stand them after surgery. Just a warning, so you don't end up wasting $$ like I did :/

Hi! ugot2laff, Is the protein you get at costco one big tub or envelopes, Where you use one envelope at a time??? Also "why would you put "LEMON" with Choc??? i WOULD THINK you would put a banana..not lemon with Choc... I would think that a banana would keep you from getting light headed, just one each morning in the shake.... I"m happy you shared about getting the protein there.. Thanks and I wish you Well...JewelJ I'm on day 4 of 10 day liquid diet. I use the Premier Protein shakes from costco. They have vanilla and chocolate.
