July 25Th Rollcall?

Recommended Posts

I am hoping those of us getting sleeved tomorrow will check back in about progress, etc. (I'm mobile most of the time and I don't see many July sleevers posting updates, yet. IDk if I'm looking in the right place or not. I'm not on the FB group either. )

What time are you checking in tomorrow?

I'm checking in at 6:30a for a 9:30 surgery! What are they gonna do with me for three hours? Lol

I'm all showered with the antibacterial soap and sleeping in "fresh linens" but I'm not sure how much sleeping I'll be doing.

The 24hour liquid diet was straight forward. No complaints. I am tired though!

How are you guys? Getting some sleep?

I'm home! Surgery went really well.

I have an abdominal hernia from my last c-section. My Dr considers hernia repair at the same time as bariatric surgery a "dirty procedure," so I will have this repaired in 3 months. She thinks I'll heal faster this way, also.

As per my usual, my pain was poorly controlled the first night. By about four pm on the 26th, I bounced back. CO2 is disipated/absorbed.

I took several laps down the hospital hall and had a shower! A doctor warned me, "hey, there's a speed limit down this hall." everyone was great. Very supportive teams.

I stayed two nights because it took me that long to get consistently drinking fluids. I was ready to come home today, though.

I took a 15 minute walk with my family tonight and ate an ounce of yogurt! The high life of a loser. I tell ya!

I'm doing really well. In part thanks to your supportive words and positive thoughts.

Going to watch the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympics. x

Hi from Australia. I too was sleeved on July 25th. Surprisingly, it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. The worst pain for me was gas pain which was lodged under my breast bone. This has now subsided. I was mobile from day one. I spent two nights in hospital (standard procedure), 5 small incision sites, no drain etc. Since coming home, I have felt so much better. The hospital beds are not very comfy. The only pain I am experiencing now is from taking too big of sips of Fluid :( Like literally my stomach only wants a teaspoon of liquid at any one time. Other than that I am totally excited. liquids for 2 weeks, purees 2 weeks after that and then I move onto soft foods

Sounds very similar to my experience. I'm so pleased that I don't have drain! The hospital beds are not hospitable. Lol. I was very happy to climb into my comfy bed! Let's keep in touch!

Oh, when I get that too full discomfort, if I put my arms straight up in the air, it moves that gas up and then I burp. Heehee

Hi CBT, thanks for the comments. I'm a bit worried about not taking in enough Fluid. Think I'm showing signs of mild dehydration. (ie white coating on tongue, dark urine). I might set my alarm for every ten minutes tomorrow to remind myself to take a sip of Fluid. Did you experience this in the first few days. Oh yes the gas! sometimes I feel like a hot air balloon :)

The white coat is common post surgical. I am still marking fluids on a sheet to keep me on track. Atleast an ounce every 15 minutes for a total of 4 ounces per hour. I am tolerating an increase in Water and Isopure. Protien shakes are going down like rocks. I got in about 3 ounces of yogurt since dinner yesterday!

Thank you. I'm much more hydrated today and setting my alarm has worked a treat. I too am tolerating more liquid. Not getting that awful sharp pain. Can't wait for the fuzzy white tongue to go away. Note to self: keep tongue in mouth for awhile

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
