Just saw a video of the sleeve surgery and the Dr sewed or sutured along the staple line??

Do all surgeons do this?

Yes, mine was, I cant say for sure if all do this, but I don't know of any that don't.

I have not had my surgery yet, but my doctor also sews a suture line over the staples. He performs this method in some of his youtube videos.

Mine was oversewn. I don't know if all surgeons do this, but it is a second line of defense against leaks. if you are unsure what your surgeon's protocol is then you should not be afraid to ask.

I read another post here that said some Drs do and some dont. I will definately ask.

Mine was stapled,, sewn, meshed w/ medical mesh dissolvable "fabric", and then sprayed with surgical glue!

Actually the spider method is a single incision usually in the belly button and a device that once inserted has multiple arms like a spider. I watched one of those surgeries performed on one of the early morning shows. Not sure if it was good morning america or not.

No spider is a technology to only make one incision on you instead of 5. Spider method for surgery has a higher leak rate because they cant see the top of the stomach as well where they put the last staples in because of the angle. My surgeon is trained in spider and typical laparoscopic.Hence, the typical 5 hole laproscopic gives them better viewing of everything. The steps i mentioned my surgeon used are what he does to make sure there's no leak issues. I was happy to hear the extra ways he closes the stomach.

I have 7 incisions. I keep hearing everyone mention 5. I didn't have any extra work done, just my sleeve. I wonder why I have 7 holes -__-
