Hi everyone,

Just wanted to update those who may be curious.

As of today I am five weeks + 1 day post op. So far I am doing well. I am down to 219, which is a 27 lbs from surgery. When I started this process I was 255 so pre/post op I have lost a total of 36 lbs.

What I eat:

grilled chicken (one thigh usually)

veggie burger (this is dry but I dip it in ketchup)

meats cooked in a crock pot 3-4 oz

cottage cheese

egg whites

eggs

Premier shakes from costco

Chili from Wendys

1/4 toast (per my NUT)

3-4 crackers (per my NUT)

My nut said to add 1/4 cup of veggies or fruit but can barely eat my Protein

Things I crave (I am slowly losing interest in these foods as I am realizing that I love that I have the control over my food now):

cake (frosting)

Chinese food

tacos

mac n cheese (I make award winning mexi mac n cheese (seriously it won an award))

pizza

Things I am grateful for:

No heartburn at all

my smaller body

my family who has been very supportive

Things I am annoyed about:

slimmies

Things I cannot live without

Water bottles

my Satchil (insulated lunch bag)

freezer pack

small containers for my Vitamins

1/2 cup containers for my lunch

Mio

Powerade zero

I am not NOT! exercising because I do not want to. Not sure how I can get motivated to do this. I am sure if I started doing this I would lose the weight a lot faster.

I had one stall for a week (223/224lbs), but I didn't care. My logic: my hair wont fall out so soon and pants will stop falling off!

One thing, I was having BM's pretty normal but then I started to struggle to poop. I don't know if its the premier shakes, but that is when it started. Has this happened to anyone? I still go, its just a battle sometimes! I think I need to add Fiber to my meals. I am generally a very healthy pooper.

Well, sorry for the long post. If you have any questions, please ask! I encourage them.

Have a great day everyone!

thanks for posting! I am two weeks post -op so I was very interested to see what you are eating now. I just moved to purees, and can only eat about 2 tbl. at a time. Or about 3/4 of a string cheese (and thats pushing it, lol) THanks again for posting!

Yw Sophie! congrats on your new journey! 2 weeks post op was very hard for me as I struggled with my food addiction. Just remember that each day does get better! I wish you the best!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
