TinaMari 75 Posted July 24, 2012 Hi guys! I was sleeved on the 17th. Im just now really letting the gas out (i suppose). Recently I've noticed whenever I belch the blades in my left shoulder like twitch and it hurts like hell. It's a weird but quick pain. Wth is going on!? Has this happened to anyone? Is this a sign of a complication? I go to the dr tomorrow.
kimmy*custis 276 Posted July 24, 2012 I didnt have that problem but I guess it is common to have gas pains in the chest/shoulder areas because of them filling you up with air during surgery. Walk as much as you can, it helps disperse the gas faster...good luck!
SleeveDreamer 383 Posted July 24, 2012 It is definitely gas from the procedure. Walk as much as possible and take some tylenol (no ibrufprofen or nsaids). Believe it or not, it will go away soon! But it does hurt, doesn't it?

Livinglifeout 217 Posted July 24, 2012 I agree with the walking, also you may want to try gas-x strips. I also used a heating pad when I would sit on my back, it really felt good:)
IMABear 57 Posted July 24, 2012 Hey TinaMari, I do believe the Vegas Nerve travels near the Stomach. When your stomach is bloated you can have referred pain up to your shoulder. Thus, when you get that Gas out you no longer have the pressure on that nerve. I think your Doc might agree. Best of luck, IMABear
