tx_girl 3 Posted July 24, 2012 So is there anything you can do to keep the pain down during the enema. I have super hard stool and it hurts so much that I have to stop. My doctor says that is normal but it hurts so bad and I am developing hemoriods.
BenisaMartim4 369 Posted July 24, 2012 If you take Mineral oil (you can get it in the medicine section at Walmart) it will lubricate the lining of your intestines and make things move more freely. You also need to be on stool softeners. When it comes time to go, rub some Vaseline around the opening to your bottom (just inside a little). It will help lubricate and prevent tearing. This is a common thing to do for babies that are constipated, but it works the same for everyone. Make sure you are drinking as much as you can. The less liquid you have in your system, the harder the stool is going to be. Hope some of this helps and you get to feeling better soon (((HUGS)))
