traceyinflorida 499 Posted July 24, 2012 58 pounds is great, so far! I know it is really hard not to compare yourself to others, but it is really important to focus on you and your successes. Everyone loses at a different rate. The important thing to remember is that everybody loses and you will keep losing too! Hang in there! 1 Piplula reacted to this
Piplula 709 Posted July 24, 2012 Don't get discouraged! Was your BMI lower? When were you sleeved? Everyone's rate is different. Have you tracked what you are eating? Look at your grams of protein..is it within the ranges your nutritionist recommended? Are you exercising? If not..start..it helps! But whatever you do, don't beat yourself up +50# are gone forever..better than where you began! 1 cervantes95 reacted to this
brandymarie81 108 Posted July 24, 2012 I feel the same way every single day! I was hoping to hit my 100 pounds lost by my birthday but barring a miracle that won't be happening..I am down 60 pounds in almost 5 months..that is just about 12 pounds a month. I know that if I would be stricter and walk more I could lose more...just got to get in the right frame of mind.

Piplula 709 Posted July 24, 2012 Ok..well here's the deal with diet..it's different in every doc's office you go. Some do pre-op liquid diet before surgery ..I wasn't required to do that..I started full liquid diet at 1 week..mushies at 2-4 weeks then real foods at 1month..some people are recommended to start solids later..since you are farther out..try to shoot for 50-60grams of Protein per day..others will tell you more for weight loss ..my doc recommended this range..it's working for me. I was told no sugary, carbonated beverages..anything sugar free that is not carbonated is fine. I prefer Water and unsweetened tea..I drank this before surgery. I would recommend Protein Shakes to boost your protein intake...I like EAS Carb Advantage shakes..they are 17grams with 2.5 g net carbs. Always eat your protein first..then veg or fruits..then if you have room..have some carbs if you have room...I would see if you can make an appt with a nutritionist that deals with sleeve patients. You can pay out of pocket for the service..and she/he can help you. Check with your local hospital that does weight loss surgeries. Good luck to you!
O.T.R. sleever 3,386 Posted July 24, 2012 58lb/14weeks= 4.1lb per week. I'd say that's nothing to sneeze at. Also, if I may, what was your starting BMI? 1 cervantes95 reacted to this
lunarose 97 Posted July 24, 2012 I averaged 10 lbs a month so 58 lbs in 4 months sounds fantastic to me. Do you have any medical insurance? Your regular doctor can certainly monitir your Iron, calcium, d ect. As far as vitatmins I take a multi, Calcium and a d3 along with a b complex daily and a B12 three times a week. You need to be sure you get your Protein in.

I also take 6 calcium citrate chews / day..I would encourage you to talk to an RD or Doc who specializes with the sleeve..
