murfsgirl 22 Posted July 24, 2012 Hard to believe it's been a week already! Pretty rough mentally, but started cream Soups yesterday and I feel better getting a little something different to eat, I lost 9 lbs and 5 inches ! I feel great, what about all you other July servers?
vinnyfan 23 Posted July 24, 2012 Glad to hear you're doing so well. I'm 2 weeks out tomorrow. I've only lost 8 lbs so far. (: But I'm feeling great and have had no problems so far with either pain or nausea. I know what you mean about the Soup. When I first had Tomato Soup, it was like heaven! Made all the difference in the world.

My daughter was laughing at me because with each spoon, I was like"ummm, this is the best thing I ever ate"(which we all know it wasn't) but it was Delish! Today is broccoli cheddar! Ummmm... LT1002 138 Posted July 24, 2012 1 week out here too. Have lost 10 lbs since coming home from the hospital on Thursday. I didn't weigh myself on the scale at home before heading to the hospital, so I'm not sure where I am from there. I'm finding it extremely tough to get through these liquid weeks, hard to get the Water in, hard to find anything remotely appetizing to drink (and by appetizing, I mean not causing me to gag from just the smell). I'm exhausted, have zero energy, and no ability to concentrate. I cry A LOT. I'm miserable. My back hurts (I have herniated discs and am off my NSAIDS). I just want my normal life back. I really hope it gets better.

I really hope it gets better. I can tell you I felt the same exact way (except for the back pain) at one week out. I am almost 4 1/2 months out and it gets better!! Day by day, week by week things will get better. Then one day you will feel totally normal, or at least what normal is now. I did horrible with my fluids the first month and a half..I had to find what was right for me. Gatorade that was kind of half frozen in the bottle (grape was my fav) from the freezer was the easiest for me. i still cant drink anything too much like water..just doesnt feel good. I also was horrible at my Protein because I hate Protein shakes. It wasn't until about week 11 that I got on track with that because I could eat my Protein.< /p>
Diana_Shrinking 0 Posted July 24, 2012 I'm 1 week out as well. Surgery was 7/16. Im going through the same things you're all going and the back pain I'm exhausted! The first week I had to stay 3 nights post op at the hospital since my stomach was too swollen. I lost 5 pounds this first week, and I was expecting a bit more than that... Hopefully this week will be better :-) I'm still on Clear liquids, and doing Protein shots pretty much every day to get some Protein in. Tomorrow it's my appointment with my surgeon and he will decide whether I can move on to Clear Liquids or puréed food. Best of luck to everyone and congratulations on your weight loss so far!!! bethleblanc 1 Posted July 24, 2012 I'm two weeks tomorrow. getting ready to go see my surgeon today. I'm down 16 pounds since surgery. I've been pretty good on the stage two diet. can't wait to eat stone real Protein. the shakes go in one end and out the other. my biggest complaint its this ripping/burning pain in my lower abdomen. does anyone else have this feeling? It seems it mostly happens when I'm trying to move.
Livinglifeout 217 Posted July 24, 2012 I'm six days out. Today started out great with no back ache. Now I've got a bad headache again, which has happened on and off since surgery. I weighed when I came home from the hospital (after flying home) and had gained 6 lbs. Weighed today and now I'm down three pounds from surgical weight. I can't seem to get all my fluids in. Jeniluv1978 22 Posted July 24, 2012 I'm one week post op, July 17, and I have not measured myself but I am down 16 pounds. Not sure how I am going to get all my Protein in but we shall see! I seriously hate the tastes of protein shakes!
TinaMari 75 Posted July 24, 2012 Hi guys. I was sleeved on the 17th as well. I can't believe a week has gone by already. My biggest complaint is sleeping. My sleep has been severely disturbed. I often have to take the pain meds just to get a decent cat nap. It's horrible. I think it has to Do with me not being able to sleep on my stomach. Since my tummy is still sore, i have to sleep on my back. I normally sleep on the couch. I don't have any issues with liquids. My dr doesn't have me on Proteins yet. But i know that's going to be an issue. Im not a fan of Protein Shakes. I brought several samples pre op and have tried a few of them. They all taste terrible and the smell of the drink makes me gag!! Omg. I can't with the Protein shakes. Lol. Can't wait to feel like myself again. It's getting there...! 1 Jeniluv1978 reacted to this
lcox1102 11 Posted July 24, 2012 Sleeves on 7/17 so far I have lost 13lbs since surgery day. The first few days after surgery were awful. I basically slept until the Saturday after bc of the nauseous feelings and pain. Now I'm feeling great. I'm sore but I get around fine and barely take pain Meds. I'm still on liquids and just taking it day by day can't wait to get in the gym again!
Jeniluv1978 22 Posted July 24, 2012 Yeah nausea was a big pia for me! sleeping sux! I'm a belly sleeper and stick pillows under my sides but some nights I ultimately end up on my belly! Was cleared for gym no heavy lifting though and no pool!! Boo!!!
Jacrielle 0 Posted July 24, 2012 I am one week and a day out from surgery (July 16). I have been feeling really great - other than serious gas (got better when I stopped the pain meds)! I was moved to a full liquid diet today and had a really yummy Breakfast. 1/4 cup of Cream of Wheat mixed with 1/4 cup of sugar free pudding (Dulce de Leche), but I could not eat it all. I could never imagine not being able to eat 1/2 a cup of food!
