I'm alittle i've 2 Weeks out my surgery day. Is it normal to still feel pain. I know someone around my age that returned back to work after 2 Weeks with no pain and another woman who returned to work after 3 days with little pain. I usually have a high pain tolerance level. I had a.c-Section and was walking the next day with little pain. I've been taking it easy and not lifting over my restricted weight limit the surgeon gave me. I know everyone is different, but i'm seriously starting to thing something is wrong with me.

If its causing you anxiety I would call your doc to be safe. I was in actual pain the first 4 days then I stopped my medication. After that I was sore another 2 Weeks...give yourself credit you've gone through major surgery and your body is not only recovering but its losing weight quickly....hope you feel better soon!

What kind of pain are you talking about? Like internally, muscle pain, incisions, etc?

Soreness. I think more internal. I really don't have any pain with my incisions. I do have a little numbness near the large incision where they took my stomach out. Not really to concerned with that though that is the same thing that happened with c section. I really pushed myself to try drinking fluids because it was do hot out and I feel like i'm not meeting my goal fluids. And tonight when I laid down I feel a"pressure" like feeling in my chest. I'm not sure if that's normal or not either?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
