Recommended Posts

Howdy everybody! :D i came from Florida and I am so happy to be good :D and feeling great in my 3rd post surgery day :D(i had the gastric sleeve on july 20th in Tijuana Mexico), i still have poor energy but let me tell you something...don't try to keep you alive shewing just popcicles and ice cubes, after your 2nd or 3rd post surgery say you can have also apple juice, broth, gatorade....and guess what i got that gave me high recover and energy??!! LowFat Milk-Low Sugar Protein shakes! that has been helping me a lot, also for helping you to burp CHEW GUM!, try to walk a little more so all that air and gases will come out some how, in one way from another, believe me! I am here for you if any of you need some of my personal advices that im using to relieve my self (and i will love to hear about yours too!) I am gonna miss you all, God bless US and help us out in this beginning of our new lifes. Cheers and tumbs up for all of you guys!

Peace, love and respect  :D

I had my gastric sleeve on July 17th! Also from Florida! I had mine done right here in Orlando though, I was fortunate to be able to do it close to home! The gas pain was the worst! But around day 4 it was pretty much gone and by day 5 I felt back to normal! I laid on my left side a lot and that helped with the gas pains! :)

I know the gas pains can be horrible and make you want to burp, but be very careful with that gum....

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
