The only thing that is freaking me out about the post op diet is the idea of eating puréed meat of any sort. Am I alone in this? Are there enough other options during that stage so that I can avoid this?

I refused to subject myself to pureeing meat...I just went without it until soft foods....

I have 6 weeks of pureed. Tonight for dinner we went to Indian food and I had Paneer Tikka masala. I do a lot of cheese on the pureed - cheese sticks and the baby bel cheese as they pack a lot of Protein punch. For meat - I make a tuna salad with tuna fish, light mayo, lemon juice and curry powder. I also do something similar with chicken. I toss all the ingredients into my food processor. The best food though during the pureed stage has been refried Beans. Add some salsa, shredded cheese and sour cream on top and its a great meal... all 2 to 4 tablespoons.

I'm coming up on the end of my puréed food stage. I've puréed chicken salad, tuna salad, and egg salad, all of which where pretty good. My program won't let us eat Beans, so I've also puréed a few cans of Hormel no bean chili. A few times I've been too tired and lazy to purée anything so I've done baby food. I recommend the Beechnut brand, bland, so very bland, but it actually tastes like the meat. Gerber is very watery.
