Well I guess I will just keep going with the slow weight loss. I haven't lost any in about a week which has been somewhat discouraging. I work out at the gym 5 days a week and I am hardly eating because I am simply not hungry and forcing myself to eat is just uncomfortable. I am having trouble getting the required Protein in because I am not a fan of Protein Shakes but I will work on that and maybe that will help jumpstart me again.

I was sleeved on June 5th. I am down 39 lbs since my first doc visit. I think I'm broken somehow, since I lost 1 whole pound this week. It amazes me that I'm eating sooooo much less and still am only losing a little bit. I know I haven't exercised, but still, compared to what I used to eat, this is nothing. Hopefully, it picks up and I lose quicker. Good luck!

Each person is different. I'm 4 Weeks out and only down 22lbs. They say low bmi'ers lose slower. I have a lower bmi so I expected it. The slower you lose the less loose skin you will have that's how I stop myself from getting depressed :)

Sent from my DROID BIONIC using VST

I am also 4 weeks out, and to date have lost 21 lbs but thanks for confirming about the lower BMI losing slower, I wondered if that was the case. and my BMI was <40 when I got sleeved on 6/20.

I was sleeved on june 5. I have lost about 18 lbs since surgery. My doctor said its completely normal and that if your BMi starts lower, it's going to take a while. At my six month mark, they want me to be down another 25 or so and then lose the last 30-40 after that. So not too bad, but slow and steady is the sleeve, particularly for those who start lower ( my surgery wt was 207).

This is just my 2cents, but my doctor stressed over and over at the consultation that he encourages his patients to look at percent lost instead of pounds (And on that note to try not to compare because everyone loses at a different rate). It's gonna be slower for a person who is smaller to begin with, because 20 pounds is 10% to someone 200 pounds, but to someone 300 pounds it is only 15%

Simple method to figure percent of weight loss:

Weight loss in pounds divided by your starting weight in pounds. Drop the decimal point and add a percent sign.

It hasn't been a month for you yet you are doing FINE! If you loose 20lbs per month that's great everything else is a bonus!

This makes so much more sense than individual numbers. When I did weight loss challenges we always went by percentages. It evens the playing field.

I'm going on vacation in a few weeks and my 175lb friend said she wanted to lose 6 lbs before then and that's going to be challenging to her. As for me, I'm trying to lose 6lbs in the next week.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
