Stalled 2 1/2 Weeks, Can't Exercise!

Recommended Posts

I'm so frustrated! I had my husband hide the scale because it was freaking me out. I'm 3 1/2 weeks post-op (June 28th), and Ive only lost 1/2 a pound since 4 days after my surgery. I'm getting all my Protein and Water in. I'm currently on mushies, and I'm doing my best to watch carbs. One of the biggest problems is that I can't actively exercise. I badly broke my ankle at the end of May, so rehabbing it is standing in the way of exercising. How can I not be losing weight...I'm only eating about 400 calories?!! I did Medifast a couple of years ago, weight just fell off, and I was eating ALOT more:(. I'm so discouraged. I know everyone stalls, but I didn't think it would be so soon after surgery.

You having your husband hide the scale is something I would do. It just made me smile. I am not making light of your situation. Just glad to know there are others out there like me. I thought maybe I would have him hide it while I am in the hospital.

I know off subject.

I have not had surgery yet, however from everything I have read of the post-op'ers they say it will happen. Get your fluids, Protein, and take your measurements. Your body has to have time to adjust. (This is all hear-say on my part :-)

Good Luck to you. I know you will start losing before you know it!

Don't worry you will lose - put that scale away :)

I too have issues with exercizing right now - have had a horribly arthritis flare up that had me in the ER shortly after surgery - Just do what you can, remember this isnt a diet, this is a permanent tool you have had 'installed', the first 6 weeks post surgery was completely wacky for me, as it has been for lots of other folks.

Remember the statistics - this happens over time, in a year if you follow post op orders you will lose most of if not all of your excess weight. Dont worry :)

I can tell you from personal experience that it will come off. Your body is catching up the surgery. I stalled for almost 4 weeks. Yes it happens. Yes it's stressful, but I bet if you take a pic of your face, You'll notice it's thinner more than likely. Most importantly is fluids. Make sure you get the most you can. When I stall for a while now, I drink extra and it kicks the weight loss back in. Good luck honey. The scale will move.

You may not be able to exercise by using your ankle, but you can do stuff that does not require an ankle. Bicep curls, crunches, tricep extensions. Just get body parts moving. The weight will come off, trust all of us on this site. Just make sure your mushies serve a purpose. Take Protein first even though they are strange to mush:-)

You're at your 3 week stall...its infamous. Just watch...you'll lose inches now for a week or two but little to no weight. Keep in there, its not a race and there will be more stalls to come. Just prepare mentally and follow proper diet

Im also 4 weeks out and have been stalled for close to two weeks. I can't give encouragement yet but I can sit and hold your hand and we'll wait together for the numbers to drop.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
