I like, and my sleeve tolerates, all dairy sources of Protein, plus veggie sources--beans, peas, lentils, nuts, tofu, avocado. I also really love shellfish--shrimp, crawfish, lobster (ha! had some on a cruise, not at home, that's for sure).

This search on Google can help: tofu recipes ("low fat" OR "low calorie" OR healthful)

Also, you can puree tofu in the blender along with some splenda or equal + Water or milk + fruit or Protein powder - even green leafy vegetables, such as spinach!. Puree it on the highest speed (I have a VitaMix). Add a few ice cubes and puree them as well. You have a smoothee. You essentially turntofu into a liquid. This pureeing technique works with firm, medium, soft and silken textures of tofu. I do find that different brands of tofu have different flavors. My own personal favorite brand is Mori Nu. You can order cases of Mori Nu online. But other people might find other brands to be better. Tofu always has helped me lose weight in the past. I hope that this information is helpful.

I use unflavored Protein from GNC. I mix it with applesauce. I got to have the applesauce ice cold. It has 21 grams of Proteins per scoop. I can't do vanilla, etc.

Peanut Butter on an apple, Hummus with some crackers. cheese with grapes. These are things m NUT suggested. Basically pair Protein with any carbs. I had asked for ideas of protein that wasn't meat. I have been eating this combos for the last week and lost almost 2 lbs this week. I was super nervous because it was new things but as long as that scale is going down and I am satisfied.... I'm good with it! Check our The South Beach books. SOOOOO many ideas!!!!

Hummus can be a great substitute for Mayonnaise on low-carb bread for sandwiches. There is hummus at Trader Joe's (I do not have a financial interest in Trader Joe's or any hummus company) with and without tahini. There also are many flavors.

We buy our Salmon at costco if you have one by you. It's amazing! Grilled with lemon pepper and fresh lemon slices. My husband also picked up some Protein pancake mix at a Vitamin store. I figure that will be a good once in a while source of protein also.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
