TinaMari 75 Posted July 22, 2012 Hi Everyone, I was sleeved on the 17th, I feel myself 1. still somewhat tired. 2. my sleeve roars and makes these weird noises. Idk what's going on but it actually scares me. I think it's trying to tell me its hungry. Not sure. B/c the feeling is different than before. One time I was trying to eat applesauce and my sleeve started like twisting and roaring so I immediately stopped. Is that a sign that I shouldn't try to eat any applesauce? Idk. I feel like I'm not really eating b/c I don't know when I'm hungry I just keep trying to feed myself every few hours while I'm awake. Also, my tummy is still pretty sore. It hurts to cough, laugh and even if I like twist the wrong way when I'm trying to get up off the couch. Oh and I have still have yet to have a bowel movement. WTH! Is this all normal? Please help. Thanks~!!
upenzi 1 Posted July 22, 2012 I haven't been sleeved yet but what you've described actually sounds like gas. Gas in the stomach makes that roaring growling sound. As for the bowel movement, I would talk to your doctor about taking cololite or something to help you BM.
skane10 64 Posted July 22, 2012 Yep, my sleeve talked a lot in the first week or two. I felt week because I was still on clears. I added Protein broth and started feeling better. As soon as you can safely up you calories and Protein via Protein shakes, you should feel better. I also had mild pain around my incisions the first week, they disappeared. TinaMari 75 Posted July 22, 2012 Thank you for responding! I'm just trying to be cautious and make sure I'm doing everything right. I'm going to call and ask about the roaring tomorrow. It doesn't hurt. It's just weird.
TinaMari 75 Posted July 22, 2012 Omg one of my incisions itches like a mother. It's taking everything in me not to scratch the hell out of it!! Ugh. The ones close to my navel are just a tad sore. I guess thats where my old pouch was.
traceyinflorida 499 Posted July 22, 2012 The itching is normal too. Eventually all of mine itched like crazy and I felt like I wanted to just scratch my skin off. Try putting I used Neosporin with a pain reliever in it and hydrocortazone cream. It helped a little. Fortunately it was really bad for one day and got progressively better each day as it healed. Lissa 2,631 Posted July 22, 2012 Tina, Try LIGHTLY smacking the itching incision to get the itching to stop. Itching is good because it means the incision is healing, but a light smack will make the nerves do something else and help with the itch sensation. Remember, I said LIGHTLY. Star1221 270 Posted July 22, 2012 The gurgling and grunting were my favorite part lol. It is normal. Yes still eat. It will calm down a lot over the next couple of weeks. You're tummy is going to be sore for a bit. Mine was only a week or so, some I see a few weeks out are still hurting. Just take your pain meds when needed. Lastly, the BM... Mine was a week. Milk of Magnesia and Miralax are real good friends of mine. They should help you a lot. Congrats. 1 Sharon's last chance reacted to this
brina212 3 Posted July 22, 2012 Yes, what u speak of is the case.. You must walk walk walk & keep walking to get that gas out that u got during surgery. As for the apple sauce is concern test foods out in ur stage a little at a time & see if ur new tummy can handle it. Imma be honest with u, ur sleeve can be funny & tell u hell naw in a minute. mommymar 34 Posted July 22, 2012 I am 2 1/2 months out and my tummy still does that weird noises, gurgling twisty thing. Every time I eat. It personally keeps me in check. It isn't so loud anymore that people can hear it. Sounds like everything is normal. It's nice to get that reassurance isn't it?

Remember, you can't trust a fart. 2 Looking Ahead and Territravel reacted to this
Looking Ahead 239 Posted July 23, 2012 When can you eat a small meal? Not just bites but a true- non embarrassing go out and eat meal. I have been going out with my husband and order a side dish like steamed veggies and only eSt 4 bites or so. Then I get embarrased when I ask for a to go cup for the rest.
