Breast Question For Those Who Have Had A Breast Lift Or Reduction Prior To Surgery?

Recommended Posts

Did your breasts maintain the shape you had after weight loss? I've been looking into a reduction with a lift, and I dont want to wait until goal (in about a year to year in a half.) I want to start the process maybe a few months after surgery after about 60 to 80 lbs.

I want to hear from women that has had lifts/reductions in the recent past, that started their sleeve journey between 250-300 lbs and has lost 80 to 150 pounds. I want to know if you had major sagginess, etc. Do you see yourself needed another lift or are your boobs still in shape?

I was reading about breast reduction and the two types of breast tissue, the fattier tissue, which weighs less than the more dense tissue. As I would imagine the fattier breasts would become smaller during the weight loss process than a woman with more dense tissue. But thats just my own theory.

My surgeon said wait a year (plastic surgeon). I have been reading online that waiting up to 2 years is the go. Instant gratification is great (I'm in desperate need of a reduction and lift) but getting the life long result is what I am waiting for!

My all time high was 308, today I am 165. I was a 48 DDD (very tight) now I am a 40 DD and EVERYTHING has dropped. (my breasts, stomach, face, etc etc ). I definitely would not get any plastic surgery until you are done losing weight and you see what you have left. I just started getting ps consults and I was told with a breast lift, redundant skin is removed, so I will be smaller. I said I don't want to be too much smaller because I don't want implants- two dr so far told me, not to worry-they will only remove skin, so I should have plenty left. But if you get a reduction half way through the journey, you may find at the end you may want implants! (There was someone on another site who had this happen to her).

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
