I will be 5 weeks out on Monday and have only lost 27lbs.... 20lbs the first 2 weeks and only 7 lbs since... I only eat about 700-900 cal a day, and walk quite a bit. I started at 345 so I have a lot to lose and thought I'd lose alot faster. I know when I did WW I could lose 5-7lbs a week and I did the Hcg diet and lost 35lbs in 40 days... How could someone only lose 7lbs in 3 weeks while eating so little, I don't get it.... My day is usually a Greek yogurt, Protein smoothie, cheese string with deli ham, and whatever meat I cook the family for dinner, I have a sleeve of steal and nothing bothers me, never feel sick and have never vomited. I was wondering if taking Hcg would help with the belly fat as its your old underling fat that is lost while taking the hormone. My idea weight loss would be at least 4-5 lbs a week for the first 75lbs, hope things speed up I just don't know how it's physically possible not to lose :(

I'm always a little surprised when I read posts like this. I know we all want the weight to come flying off and I know that it seems like it should considering we eat so little. However, you are only 33 days out. In 33 days you have lost 27 pounds! Think about that, 27 pounds in 33 days! That is beyond incredible! Especially considering that your body during this time has also been recovering from a traumatic injury (surgery). So what if it takes a little longer to lose, you're still going to lose it. Try to have a little patience and let the sleeve do it's thing. It will work for you and your body will let go of the weight when it's ready. xoxo.

My psychologist told me to remember that when you gained the weight, you would gain a little, then maintain that weight for awhile. Then gain a little more, and maintain it for awhile.

So the opposite is true when you lose. You will lose a little, then hit plateau (maintain a little while), then lose a little more, and plateau. You can plateau for anywhere from 3-4 weeks even.

Please don't lose hope! 27 lbs. lost is awesome, even if you only lost 7 lbs in two weeks. At least the scale is heading in the right direction (not up).

Think of where you will be come holiday time. . . . and next Spring . . . . and next Summer!!! I know we all want instantaneous results, but you will get there. Sounds like you're doing very well (no complications). That's awesome!!! :D

You've done amazing in 5 weeks! I do however understand the frustration, I mean we've put ourselves through major surgery for the ultimate and desperate goal of dropping the weight, and hopefully quickly! I am in a 3 day stall at 208.4 after dropping 18 lbs in the first 2 weeks. I have heard it called the 3 week stall so I'm not too worried about it, it will come off eventually. We've just got to be patient and work the sleeve, it's too late to turn around now! LOL!!

I think you need to consume more calories. Sounds like your body is going into starvation mode.

Good luck!

You hit the 3 week stall. It's very normal. I hit mine a little further out, but it's still the same. Your body needs time to catch up. My stall lasted 3 1/2 weeks. Don't get discouraged. Now's the time to take out the measuring tape and take measurements. I stalled from week 5 through week 9. I was 231 during the stall. I am 12 weeks now... I am 208... So no worries. You got it honey.

I understand what you mean. I'm in a similar situation.

I lost 20 pounds in the first two weeks.

Plateaued for 2 weeks.

scales has been up & down a pound or two at a time. Finally managed to move 15 more pounds.

Plateaued again at 6 weeks out.

Now 2 weeks on another plateau.

So, to recap, I'm now 8 weeks out at 35 pounds lost. I keep trying to convince myself that more is going to come off but I'm terrified that I will be stuck at 249 forever. Nothing I do seems to help. More calories, less calories, more Protein, less Protein, more exercise or less.

I think we just gotta relax & work thru it. :)

PS: I lost 50 pounds Pre-op. so I'm at 85 gone. People are really starting to notice & mention the weight loss so it's even more frustrating. I think it's cuz I'm wanting it more.

Thanks for putting things in perspective, today's week 5 and I'm down 29lbs I'm happy with that I guess;) figure I'm losing a pound every 2-3 days, I guess in the long run it will be better for my flabby skin.

I hope it helps! You are right, it will help your skin. The NUT told me today that losing too quick would give me a heart attack, so I'm going to try to calm down on my freak out.

It has to come off right? Just isnt going to happen overnight.

I'm right there with you. I've only lost 12 pounds since surgery (3weeks ago). I keep trying to give my self "the talk" that it will come off sooner or later. I just want it off now! #insert tantrum here I just keep plugging away. Although I haven't been in an official "stall" 1-2 pound a week is not what I had in mind. My head knows its better to lose it slow, but my hips want it gone NOW! lol

I echo that you should be measuring inches. EVERY time the scale stops, I drop the inches. To be honest, I am happy when my scale stops because I get more compliments when those inches fall off. At my 3 week stall I put my scale away. I decided to weigh one a week. Somehow being able to let go let my body relax. I knew I was doing everything I was supposed to.

But you also need to know almost everyone goes through this. When we wish we would have lost more or we think we have "earned" more loss. It gets us down, make us think what more we could do. Just know you aren't alone. Thus scale WILL move again and you already have accomplished more than ever before (I know you "lost" more in shorter time on HCG but that comes back, this is permanent) keep on keeping on!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
