So..I know I've posted a few threads since my surgery 7/17, but this is just something else I'm wondering about.

What position was/is the easiest to sleep in? I have always either slept on my stomach, or sides..now I've been on my back and I HATE it. I try to prop up on pillows and every little way to be comfy, but NO help! :(

This is during the healing time, btw.

I had a hard time staying on my back too, but I was so exhausted from being nauseated all the time it didn't matter. Anyway...I was able to somewhat comfortably sleep on my side after a week. Sometimes though, I will need a pillow to hold against my stomach.

I've only been able to sleep on my back too. I was sleeved on Monday. I've had to sleep on the sofa, propped up with a bunch of pillows. I'm hoping that once I get my drain out, I will be able to sleep a bit morning on my side.

I've been sleeping on my sides, hugging a roll pillow to my stomach. I would normally sleep on my stomach but can't imagine it right now:)

I was sleeved the 18th am hanging to sleep on my stomach. I sleep with an incline of 4 pillows and a small blanket that's wedged next to my head. This has helped me from midnight heartburn pains. My stomach is too tender still to turn on the side.

I slept on the couch for three nights bc I could semi slep on my side. By the end of the week I was on my stomach in my bed.

I've been wondering the same thing, i can't sleep anyway but on my back right now. I've tried the pillow thing but I haven't had much luck with that myself. I usually sleep on my tummy as well :-/

Wow..lucky y'all! I cannot even imagine sleeping on my stomach right now! It is very sore. Maybe I'm a big baby? Lol I don't know. And I've tried a million times to get onto my side, but I feel like its pulling at my incisions. Ill be so happy when this all gets better!!

I started sleeping on my side 2 weeks out with a pillow wedged kinda under me and I would wrap my arm around it. Around 6 -7 weeks I could finally sleep on my stomach comfortably. I'm alot heavier than most so it was harder.

There is no way I could sleep on my stomach. I am almost 2 weeks out, and my skin between my incisions is still so sore. Does anyone else experience this? My incisions feel fine, its the area between all of them...

I slept in a recliner for at least 2 weeks. Then I started sleeping in bed with pillows wedged on either side and propping me up as well.

I too am a side/stomach sleeper, but I was able to sleep on my side the 1st night following surgery while still in the hospital. After being discharged the 2nd day, I slept on my side at home and on my stomach within about 3 days.

The trick for me was to position myself VERY SLOWLY. The hardest part was getting into that position, but once I did I was able to sleep pretty comfortably. Don't be afraid to try it, but just remember to go slow! Good luck :)

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
