I just started making my own Protein bars. The ones I make using the Promasil chocolate Protein Powder is very close to 18g Protein, 10g fat, and 6 grams of carbs. The size is comparable to the Atkins bars. Mine are about 4"l x 2"w x 1/2 thick.

The best advice is to check out how easy it is to make on youtube. For me in my fridge it stays for 4 days. But thats only cause I make small batches. Btw you can always add or sub ingredients to adjust for your needs

Check out this video on YouTube:

Edit: also you could add any liquid or Vitamin powders to this as well. I dont know if any of you are willing to buy bulk powders but its way cheaper and pure.

those look yummy, like no bake cookies!!

I wonder about substituting PB2 for the Peanut Butter.

I wonder about substituting PB2 for the Peanut Butter.

I actually thought about that myself. I tried PB2 once and immediately ran to the trash can. But mixing it with Protein powder and some steel cut oats and some dried cherry/raisins with a hint of Aguave necter might do the trick for me to be able to handle it lol.

Try some PB2 and let us know then maybe I will try and give it a shot.

PS I am trying to think of what I could use to coat a bar once I put some sugar free jellies on the bar. Trying to make a bar with a 2:1 ratio protein:carb but as a cold dessert bar. Calories doesnt really bother me as I fight to get in my 800-1000/day. I just stay focused on the 2:1 protocol.

I eat a lot of greek yogurt sweetened with sugar free syrups and it is rich and creamy (not for everyone though).

Where is a good place to find sugar-free syrups?

Just google Torani sugar free. Several places on line offer them. And you can buy direct

We have a store here called World Market and they sell about 10 different flavors of the Torani Syrup. I am here in Fl. So I am not sure if World Market is everywhere or not.

I like the Pure Protein bars. 20 grams protein, around 180 cals, 3 net carbs (17 carb - 13 sugar alcohol - 1 Fiber = 3 net carbs... At least I think that is how that works!)

Way to generalize!!! And just from one sucker to another, nothing you listed would I even try to ingest. Never liked York, vanilla is repulsive, and the isopure thing is a 50% waste. Your body can't absorb 50g of protien in one sitting. It's more like 20-27 so you still got all those calories for 1/2 the protien.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
