AndyPandy88 12 Posted July 21, 2012 Hey everyone. I'm about 3 1/2 weeks Post-op. I was wondering how long I should wait before I can start jogging or running. I have been doing a treadmill at the gym and just going like 3.0 to 3.5 with an incline to get some extra calorie burn. Any insite?
Smoggy 152 Posted July 21, 2012 Hi, I'm almost 3 weeks out. My surgeon said no strenuous exercise that can jolt the body (such as ball sports, running etc) until I was onto solid foods (2 months out). He encourages walking, and I've been cleared for swimming and I've discovered on MFP that it burns more calories than jogging, who knew?
Squisha 99 Posted July 21, 2012 I was told i could do anything except lifting weights as soon as it was confortable, no weights till 6 weeks out.
angie pang 15 Posted July 21, 2012 Yes heavy weights I was told after 2-3 months. Starting with light weights and gradually go up.
Aussiegirl 580 Posted July 21, 2012 I was told 6 weeks for more strenous exercise by then the stitching is pretty much healed. Before that was just walking and easy exercise.
