Yes it happens. Don't weigh yourself every day. I know it is hard not too, since we have invested so much into this. The weight will come off. Weigh in about once a week. Also measure yourself. Usually of you have stalls in weight loss you can see loss of inches which is just as encouraging. Hang in there and be patient.

I'm wondering why your surgeon would take you off of your thyroid meds?? My advice would be to go to your PCP and have blood work done and get back on your thyroid meds. The thyroid is not something to mess with and I am surprised he took you off the meds instead of monitoring your thyroid and adjusting your meds as needed. I have been on thyroid meds for the last few years and have blood work done every six months (or sooner if I feel symptoms) and my meds are adjusted as they need to be. Since my surgery my dosages have been changed twice, my PCP watches it very closely.

You cannot gain a pound of fat in one day--that's about 3500 calories in excess of your metabolic rate. It's Water or it's poop. Either way, if getting on the scale is going to upset you, then weigh yourself less often.

As long as you are adhering to your plan, you will not gain fat weight.
