When Did You Start Getting All Of Your Liquids In?

Recommended Posts

My surgery was July 17th, I came home yesterday and have been either laying down, sleeping, or just loopy. I know I am not getting all of my liquids or Protein in right now. Is it ok? I'm just still hurting a lot and don't feel like moving around or drinking/eating anything.

Is this normal? I'm nervous and definitely do NOT want to end up back in the hospital because of dehydration. :(

I think for a lot of people it is a constant struggle. About 3 weeks I was getting all my Protein, but I still struggle with Water at 6 weeks out. I think I've had 64oz of water maybe twice and I know one day it was 100+ degrees. (I know they say you can count shakes, popsicles, etc, but I don't.) Most days I get 40-50oz of pure water.

My surgery was the 17th too and i came home Thursday. You should be able to get most of your liquids in. I eat mostly Jello, broth and Soup, although I admit I've been slacking on drinking the Water. It's hard b.c u get really gassy. It's also hard b.c i have to learn to drink and eat slower. By next week it should be easier for you and me.

I was sleeved on the 16th, and I'm also struggling with getting all my Water and Protein. I'm just taking things easy, not stressing and doing what I can.

Thanks y'all. I'm trying, but its weird..like I have no desire to put anything in my mouth. But I'm gonna try to not stress it, because I'm doing only what my body is allowing me. I know time heals, so I will give it time! :)

Around week 3 I started to get good with getting in my Water....protien, now that's a different animal...I've finally started getting good with that now, and I'll be 6 weeks out Monday...you just have to stay aware of what you put in your pie hole...make sure its good for your body...

I am near 7 weeks and get my Protein in but always struggle with Water. It feels like I am always either eating or drinking something or taking a vitamin! I try to drink a bottle of water at 9, noon, 3 and 6pm but sometimes I am still working on the earlier one when it's time for another so I am usually around 50-55 oz.. I used to be able to chug a water bottle in a few minutes before surgery. It just takes time.

I was sleeved on the 17 too, my dr said to take it easy and do what I can the first few days. I would say don't stress it. I'm drinking as much Water as possible. Day by day

I'm trying as hard as I can, but I hate the way anything feels going down. Ugh. I am so ready to be out of this phase. I tried a sugar free pudding and I couldn't even eat it all and usually that takes me about a minute! Lol. Just irritated :/

Try sugar free popscicles when you feel you can't drink. Only 2 oz of Water, but every little helps. I would focus on water intake, as you can get a little dizzy. As for Protein, you can sip on Protein Shakes. A single one has 35 gr of Protein. Dont worry if you cant do it all at the beginning. Don't be afraid , or nervous. Every single day it gets easier. You can do this!

I drink a lot of the BariWise and ProtiDiet drinks. They have the consistency of crystal light and have been a life saver for me. Good luck!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
