Celaine47 4 Posted July 20, 2012 Hello All! I would like to know if anyone knows the answer to this question? Do people with a higher BMI or more excess weight to lose, lose weight at a faster rate than someone who has a lower BMI or less excess weight to lose? Just want to know what observations people have made. Thanks!
Back~To~Amy 307 Posted July 20, 2012 Typically, yes in the beginning. Also, men in average lose quicker than women. 1 Celaine47 reacted to this
chunkychic30 12 Posted July 20, 2012 i think i would disagree . sorry. i started with a high bmi well still am but since surgery i have lost 30 pounds that was 3 months ago. So in my case no i am not loosing faster, And i have a freind who bmi was lower than mine alot and lost 50 the first 3 months. I think it just varies from person to person. only one fact is correct and thats it the weight will come off some faster than other. 1 Celaine47 reacted to this
Willow216 91 Posted July 20, 2012 Typically higher BMI/Weight lose faster till the BMI hits around 40 then it levels out and the loss is slower, this is what my surgoen states, but also everyones body/chemistry is different so this will not reflect everyone. 2 Celaine47 and mommy794 reacted to this
ForMyfamily 84 Posted July 20, 2012 Very high bmi has shown that in super morbid people will drop weight fast. I went on a liqiud diet (day 4 so far) and am averaging 5 lbs a day. 1 Celaine47 reacted to this

Well, that and the fact that other factors can influence it too. I hope your weight loss picks up for you. However, if it doesn't, you will still get there! Best of luck to you. 1 Celaine47 reacted to this
