SleeveandRNYchica 1,155 Posted July 20, 2012 Anybody under go cortisol testing? I have to collect 24 hours worth of urine. I read up on it, very interesting. I have never been tested for this before. I guess my surgeon wants to know how my body handles stress.....
Phranquie 4 Posted July 20, 2012 I have had cortisol testing a couple of times. Not much fun to carry around that jug all day! There were also blood tests taken as the beginning and end of the testing. The first test I had showed that I had very high cortisol levels due to stress and ongoing pain issues. When I had another test several years later my cortisol level was very low and the doc said I had "adrenal fatigue" due to long term high stress level. I now take a couple of supplements and do feel better and have more energy. Good luck with your testing I hope it turns out normal.
SleeveandRNYchica 1,155 Posted July 20, 2012 Thank you. She didn't say I had to have a blood test prior.....ummmm. I am doing it at home, Sunday into Monday. My husband cracked up at the jug. I just thought it was odd, it was the one test required with all the other labs he wants to make a solid determine for surgery.

Debrry 32 Posted April 11, 2013 I have a very low cortisol level I've came to a total stop in my weight loss have low blood pressure I was placed on salt tablets and a pill to hold Fluid in?? Any help what this could be maybe from surgery ? Hi, wondering how you ever made out with your cortisol levels?? I had surgery on 1/21 and have only lost 12 pounds. They found a growth on my adrenal gland and I see the endocrinologist tomorrow because something definitely is going on. I have given 110% with this surgery and have really lost all hope. I run 10-15 miles a week and still nothing. Hoping I get some answers tomorrow.
