Does WW online count as the 6 month supervised diet required by the insurance company or do you physically have to go to the meetings? Please share you experiences..thanks! Also what type of ins. Do you have?

Check with your insurance provider to be sure. With mine, you could do WW, but still had to see the doctor once a month. I just did the doctor diet, it was cheaper : )

I did WW for mine- I had to see my Dr every month also. I told him I was following the program (not attending meetings- but i was weighing in a few times a month.) My Dr. noted it in my chart- along with my weight, and my physical activity. I have Cigna, and it states right in the policy that this is acceptable.

I have cigna too and its only acceptable in conjunction with monthly supervised visits with a doctor other than your surgeon. So like someone above mentioned it was cheaper to just do the doctors visits.

I think I saw you say six months worth of visits......cigna only requires 3 months now. Isn't that awesome!

All the best on your journey!

You dont need to sit through the meetings, l never did.. But you must physically go there for your weekly weigh in!!! Most important, be sure to visit with your primary physician 3 times during those 6 months, where he/she acknowledges WW and that they have counceled you on weight loss

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
