paigep 17 Posted July 20, 2012 Hey everybody! I was sleeved 10 days ago with Dr. Garcia in Tj. I have a question that is making me completely sick worrying about it...will I ever be able to eat food again and actually enjoy it? I just want to be able to eat vegetables out of the garden! I'm so worried I'll never be able to again or that I won't enjoy food. I know I have major buyers remorse right now.
girlfriday 59 Posted July 20, 2012 Yes, we will return to normal. I am 17 days post op and have wondered the same thing. I miss food. As you tolerate more and move into the different phases you will see. At day 17 post op, the pain I'df drinking Water is practically gone! Huge milestone......but it is all baby steps. Hang in there. Each day reveals something new.
5DoxieMom 87 Posted July 20, 2012 Don't worry, you'll be able to eat again! Those first 5 or 6 weeks out are really hard...both physically and emotionally. It will be OK. I'm over 4 months out, life is normal. I can eat almost anything, only just little bits. I have trouble with beef. Veggies from my garden go down just great. Asparagus, artichokes, beets, kale and turnips.
