I Am curious how many post op sleeves have IIH (pseudotumor cerebri) and if it improved or went away after surgery? I have it and am hoping that weight loss helps!

Thank you,

Carol

Hi lilu, i have never heard of that. I hope weight loss helps you! My neuro says that most IIH is cured by weight loss but there are a some people where it doesn't. *fingers crossed*

Have you had any relief since surgery? I have this as well and am scheduled for surgery in April. I am hoping this will relieve any lingering symptoms because I can't tolerate having to be on Diamox ever again!

I was sleeved feb11th and I have pseudotumor. and I am having my 1st headache since surgery right now. I have been off diamox for years...it's a horrible nasty medicine. my neurologist put me on lasik. works much better for me. I hope the sleeve helps because that's why I did it..

I should be having my sleeve in May. IIH was the deciding factor for me, I am really hoping that this is what it takes to have pain free days again.

I had/have IIH. It's improved since surgery. Less headaches& my ocular pressure went down. I feel for you guys about the diamox--I vomited all day, couldn't stand up. Terrible.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
