I am a week and a half out of surgery, and have been trying to take it easy. I haven't noticed any pain or soreness that is too bad; I haven't taken my pain medicine in a few days either. What I dis notice was a hard knot under one of my incisions that does not hurt when I pinch it. Is this normal scar tissue formation? Just wondering if I am not being careful enough. Thanks!

I have the same thing under my largest incision and I had my 10 day follow up appt today and my doctor said there are stitches under neither that hard spot where the stomach came out from. As long as it is not red, burning, pus, or hot, you are fine. Good luck to you!!

I'm a little over a year out, and I can still feel that same hard knot under my largest incision, although I think it's smaller then it once was.......so, it may never fully go away, but It will be smaller in time :)

Does it poke out or is it visable? I know lapband patients says their port sticks out..would freak me out.

I was told that once the soreness is gone you can gently massage that area. It will go away over time with massage. I know all of mine did with a previous surgery. Surgeon says it is a buildup of scar tissue associated with the healing process.

Only 2 days post-op so haven't started doing it with the fresh incisions. Still a bit sore...especially the big one.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
