Hello, sorry you are having troubles~ I have yet to get sleeved however I know that planning is key~ Did you speak with a Nutritionist in regards to a food plan? If available I would make an appointment to assist you in getting back on track~ From what I have been reading Protein is vital so make sure you get that as well as your fluids in~ Also create a realistic exercise schedule even if it's walking during breaks at work or parking extra further in order to get more walking in~ baby steps to get yourself acclimated and in a better routine~ hope this helps~

Best wishes~

Sounds like you already know what you should and should not be doing. It may be worth seeing a nutritionist to get an idea of a good meal plan for you. Also, use my fitness pal to track your eating. Nothing like seeing how many calories you are consuming.

As far as the gym; I'm with you! I hate to go. I do like classes though. But I can not get into just jumping on the machines and working out. So I am taking 3 classes at the gym. One aerobic, one aqua fit (my fav) and one belly dancing which is pretty tough. That's at least three days that I work out. Plus if it's outside I just I for a walk. You can do it!

The best thing about the sleeve is that it does take some time to completely screw things up so you can get back in track! I'm not sure what city you are in but if you want to keep I contact we can.

Best wishes!

I haven't been sleeved yet, but have the same trouble you do about planning meals! I have been thinking since breakfast is so hard for me, Protein Shakes may become my "go to" breakfasts.

I'm almost three months out too - surgery weight was 236 and I am at 202 now. I didn't expect to be below 200 yet as I've been told to expect about a two or three pound loss per week once my body stabilized after the surgery, and that's almost exactly what's happening. I really try now to compare my weight loss to others who were sleeved at the same time, because everyone loses differently.

If you're not already on My Fitness Pal, I would join and hook up with some friends there. You can see their meal plans and that may help you plan your own.

Also, there are some good websites for recipes, www.emilybites.com and www.theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com. Both sites have some recipes you can make up and then freeze for easy meals.

There's also some great ideas in the Recipes and Nutrition area of this forum

Other things that I do:

Bought a Bento Box from Amazon and pack my lunch the night before. Eggface's blog has some great ideas of what to put in Bento Boxes. I also keep some items in my desk in case I get in a rush or have meetings during the day, etc. Protein Bars and RTD Shakes; Starkist Pre-made Tunafish salad kits; A bag of almonds; Cans of Soups, etc.

SimplyQuel,

What do you like to eat? Start there but make sure it's high Protein. What you described (snacking and not planning) is what my NUT said will cause plateaus. But on the other hand sound like you average 14 lbs per month which is actually healthy weight loss.

For breakfast I eat an egg and just recently added a little spinach and cheese to it. I will probably stick with my egg and add a piece of fruit like applesauce once i can take it all in.

For lunch I look for the high Protein chicken or fish and make different meals with it and slowly adding my veggies to it.

For dinner I can't go wrong with a Protein shake.

In between meals I drinks Water and snack on Jello. That's it but I'm 3 weeks post op but planning has help me. I've lost more than 42 lbs in a month only because I weigh more.

Plan your meals and I'm sure you will start seeing results again.

Great job missv I'm 1 mo out and haven't had an egg yet. How do u cook your egg? Is the spinach fresh or canned? Sounds delish. I'm having trouble getting down my Water. I can drink tea, coffee, but water makes me belch, etc.

Since an egg can be eaten in the soft/mushy/puréed phase and beyond I scramble my egg, the spinach is fresh but I cooked it prior and stored it. If you sip your water literally throughout the day it's easier. The belching comes with the territory lol

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
