Designer Whey Protein

Recommended Posts

Just an FYI - I went to Vitamin World yesterday just to look at the Protein powders. They have their Designer whey - Buy One, Get One Free. Actually, they have lots of things in their store Buy One, Get One Free.

Their website is Water today...blah!!! :faint:

So, would it be bad with skim milk? Or, what do you normally mix with it?

I want to get prepared for having to drink these things before my surgery.

Oh...one thing that was not good about the buy one, get one...it has to be the same flavor. (but the girl whispered to me just bring one back when the sale is over and exchange it for another flavor)

my favorite Protein Powder is EAS myoplex lite and you can mix with Water or skim milk - i always use water and it's under 200 calories and i think, tastes really good - i like all flavors - choc, vanilla, strawberry and their tropical flavors (orange jubilee, etc.) I absolutely hate the premixed ones though so i can't recommend them - it's in the blender with ice that makes them so good and filling. Alot of times you can buy them on ebay cheaper than in the stores - for about 1.00 packet.

Yep I have that same brand, got it at Trader Joe's.

Mixing it with Water is really gross but it keeps the calories down. What ever you do, don't mix it in your coffee..........eeeeeeeeeeeeeew ! LOLOL

Skim milk seems to be the better choice and yes add some fresh fruit and ice if you want it thicker.

I never buy the chocolate flavor b/c IMHO, I haven't had any luck with finding a chocolate that taste good (except hershey's :( ).

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
