Billysbelly 19 Posted July 19, 2012 I'm 6 months post op and have noticed that I can eat a hole sandwich or a hotdog with bun. I know no breads, believe me it's not often. If I eat the sandwich that would be it, I'm full. I couldn't do this 4 months ago. Any one else in same situation.
FishingNurse 1,211 Posted July 19, 2012 yep I have been there since about 6 months too. I can eat 3/4 of 6 inch from subway minus the top of the bread. or just two small slices of bread with a few slices of turkey and a slice of cheese. Perfect meal for me! Jolie_KeMi 345 Posted July 19, 2012 I can't eat a whole sandwich, but I can definitely put away more food than than I could 2 months ago. I wish I could go back to the days of eating 1/4 of a tilapia filet. Now I eat about half the filet.
PdxMan 4,292 Posted July 19, 2012 Oye! I don't think I would even try ... I had half a hot dog a couple days ago with the bun. Took me about 15 minutes and I was STUFFED. But again, I don't really even try to eat whole sandwich or hot dog.
SpecialK1960 252 Posted July 19, 2012 I am just 4.5 weeks out. The idea of eating a hotdog again (season ticket holder for the Texas Rangers) makes me want to cry. Right now, as you guys know, there are no sandwhiches or hot dogs. Glad to know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel - or better yet, a hotdog with my name on it. GO RANGERS! 11 Butterflylegacy, tonibugg, mylifeinpink and 8 others reacted to this
Billysbelly 19 Posted July 19, 2012 I think my surgeon makes the sleeves with a 42 bogie(spelling???) he said he had better results with this. Alot of people are smaller. Don't know if this is any reason though.
Billysbelly 19 Posted July 19, 2012 Im cool with it. It's better than sucking down four dogs like I use too. And healthier. 1 JDHenin reacted to this
CAsleeve 56 Posted July 19, 2012 Well...you might like them, but...hot dogs are not considered any where near good nutrition! I know it is "American" to eat hot dogs and sugar and white flour/bread, but...this is also why Americans are so obese! My suggestion is to select nutritious food that fuels your body in the most effective way. Go with a mostly plant-based diet! Don't be over concerned with not being able to eat unhealthy food, concentrate on eating a diet full of nutrient rich plant-based foods. Even though you've been sleeved, you can still eat junk food and you can gain weight. I think a better option is to take advantage of your awesome tool and fuel yourself with good nutrition. That's my two cents. 2 1920-Zeta and mylifeinpink reacted to this

aroundhky 1,174 Posted July 19, 2012 I was able to eat a whole sandwich or turkey brat at 2 1/2 months. I think I'm able to hold a good bit more food than most with this surgery....frustrates me a bit.
Tiffany Talbert Corbet 46 Posted July 19, 2012 Honeysuckle White makes GREAT Turkey Brats. I don't get to have them often, because the hubby doesn't like brats, period, but when I was single, I had them and they were yummy! Boiled in "Lite" beer and you'll never know the difference once you pour on the mustard.
