Happy Anniversary To Me (June 7Th)

Recommended Posts

I know Im rather late here with this, But june 7th was my one year anniversary. I got sleeved june 7th of 2011 and have lost a little over 245+ on my one year mark, exceeding the centers expectation by over 120 pounds. They expected me to lose 100-125 first year but I beat it. Life for me since losing so much surgery...AMAZING! Im starting to live again, breathe again, and look at life at a fresher and better view. Ive promised myself, that this summer I would enjoy it like no other summer by going to the Yankee stadium and sitting on seats instead of the bleachers, Visit dorney park, and mountain creek and of course six flags and maybe get my ass into a roller coaster. BUT, of course being I was nearly 550 pounds for so long, its a bruise that still lives in me and I am doing something about it, so that it doesnt live in me forever.

My question to you guys/gals is: I so wanna get on a roller coaster at six flags or dorney park, but have a huge fear of walking down the path of shame (workers telling me the harness doesnt fit) in front of hundreds of people. I am 6-3" tall, weigh 315 pounds but folks ive spoken to said "its not really how much you weigh but how your fat is distributed." With that my waist is 42-44" and chest is 46-47"... any male/female had the same issue with this like I do? Do you guys think I fit in some of the rides?

P.S And here is my 1 year anniversary video I shot couple weeks back and please opinions welcome.

Cheers and thank you all for watching and reading my post,

Alex

First -- Happy Surgiversary! The last time I attempted to ride a roller coaster, I was 320 (I'm 6'2") and had to take the walk of shame. However, I think you're right that a lot of it is how the weight is distributed. But holy crap, you've lost 245 pounds! BFD if you can't fit in a roller coaster yet. You've done amazingly well!

CONGRATULATIONS!

I'm 1 week, 4 days post op and you're a true inspiration!!

Regarding the amusement parks, I do know it's on size not weight but you should call and ask! You'll get there if not this summer or fall, next. But from the sounds of it I think you may be able to this summer.

I am the same height and when I was at 315 I could ride everything except the ones that have the pull down metal cages where your feet hang below you. And even then it was just a barely. You are an inspiration and have done amazingly well. It just goes to show you that you should set your own goals and not listen to other peoples goals they have for you. Keep up the good work and go enjoy 6 flags, you have earned it.

They have sample seats at the front of alot of the rides now so you can try them out before you stand in line, so not as embarrassing if you don't fit!

What's BfF? Hahaha and thanks a ton! I won't let that get to me but I don't want to pay to get in the park if I won't be able to get in any ride.

Congrats on your surgery, and thank you for the kind words. I have called and asked but they said I'll just have to go myself to the park and try it out.

Thank you so much for the info, my chest area isn't big at all and folks that have been to the park told me they've seen folks bigger then me get on the rides. But then looks are deceiving. I think I'm just gonna have to soldier up and go. And thank you for the great words! This site along w many others that have had the surgery inspired me as well. It's a roller coaster thing hahaha

Yea I remember them seats, I'll just have to take the plunge and go for it. Whether I fit or no I'll just go for the experience. That walk of shame is something I don't ever wanna go through again.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
