So my nut class is next Friday... And then after that is the psych eval... Everything is moving smoothly ... I've been working out daily and I feel stronger and healthier by the day.

My main problems are 1. I am having a shitty time trying to quit smoking... My surgery date is exactly three months after my last cigarette an every day that I smoke is another day that I have to wait to get my surgery

2. I am sooooo greedy. I forget how much I I love food and at odd hours of the day. I have to lose 20 lbs in three months and at first it sounded easy but I'm realizing how difficult it will be

Good luck! I can't relate as far as smoking as concerned (I've never smoked) but I'm sure you can do it. Keep in mind that you're not going to be able to be sleeved until you quit. Perhaps put notes on your bathroom mirror or fridge reminding you of your goals.

Maybe consider going to therapy to help with the smoking and getting your head clear on eating issues. It would really help you during your pre op diet and especially after your surgery. You sound so excited,,keep your eye on the prize and that'll help keep you focused! Good luck!

Keep with it, it will happen! I know someone who used a prescription medication (not sure what it was...) to help her quit, and she said it really helped. Might be worth asking about? Good luck!

Quitting smoking is tough... I've done it several times and in several ways: cold turkey, Chantix (too many bizarre dreams for me!), nicotine patch. For me, the easiest way is using the patch. You can take a patch and cut it in half so when the cravings get super intense you can add the other half of the patch for instant (sorta) relief.

Also, I discovered that the biggest crutch for me when quitting was finding something to do with my hands other than hold a cigarette. Chewing on straws while I was at work and at my desk helped (for some strange reason). I also picked up crocheting last time I quit and that kept me occupied while I was at home. So maybe you could find a new hobby that requires a lot of concentration to keep your mind off the cigs!

I have been smoke free now for over a year! Definitely glad I did that last year as I would hate having to quit in order to have surgery done.

BTW - I had my first NUT class on Thursday of this week so we're on the same track! Good luck to you!!!

Yeah I don't think we're allowed to have any type of nicotine in our systems so the only choice is cold turkey... Which sucks because I think a patch would do me pretty good right about now lol

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
