Slender Lady, Liberty Fitness or Curves???

Recommended Posts

Ok, I am realizing that I cannot lose this weight with the band alone.:) I was thinking before I got the band that the pounds would just melt off magically if I ate less. Well, I am eating less and they are still here (minus the original 10 I lost during post op).:D Sooooo, I am off to try one of these Gyms today.:clap2: I looked into all of them and they seem to be the same.:welldoneclap: Any insight?? Thanks!

I've never been but I have heard nothing but good things about Curves. I know several people who go and they all enjoy it very much. I've never heard of the other two.

Good luck & much success to you whatever you choose! :clap2:

Most of these gyms will offer a free trial membership for 1 week... if they don't offer... ask. I did this with the two places available where I live and made my decision that way. Good Luck!

I belong to Curves. It's nice. I go 3 times a week. There is a nice mixture of ages and weights and no spandex!

I'm hoping that once I get the food under control with the band that I'll see good progress.

They are all a knock off of Curves. I have been to them all. :welldoneclap: :) They are all pretty much the same. One of them here in AZ offered a juice bar along with a sauna & tanning room. It came with the package & was the same price as all the others. Check them all out & see who offers the best deal.

I was a part of Curves for 3 years & it worked great. However, you will plateau once you work out there for a certain period of time. I needed something more so I joined a Gym that really works my butt out!!!

Curves is great for people who need a little kick in the behind & don't want to start out at the big, scary gyms. I loved it!!!

It's going to be the Y for me! That free trial idea to test run your short list sounds like a great one to me. Good luck and congrats on starting a gym program!

I have been going to Curves for 4 months, but lately it hasn't given me enough of a workout--can't get my heartrate up to 70% no matter how much I run in place. I thought it was boring, and having to jog in place half the time didn't help my arthritis (even tho that has greatly improved since I have lost over 40#). I just switched to a "real" gym for women only and am appreciating the elipitical and other equipment that is a bit more challenging and not so hard on the joints.

I too started out at curves. I went for a year 3x week. Since i had not done any "real" exercise I decided to start at curves to get me into the routine of going. It worked great for me. I liked it, it is easy to do and in the beginning it worked really well for me. I just finished up 1 year and joined a large gym since I am now used to going to work out, I am hoping I will get rid of the last 50 pounds. I am looking for a more strenuous work out more with weight training too. I do think Curves is a great place to get started (of note: I have not heard of the other two places you mentioned... dont think we have those where I live).

Thanks for the replies. I worked out for the first time in months today, twice!!:P First I went to Curves in the morning then Liberty Fitness in the afternoon. I have to say (although it was afternoon and I was probably more tired anyway) Liberty Fitness was harder than Curves. They have a dial for the resistence and Curves doesn't. I do think after awhile the resistence would get easy at Curves since it wasn't that difficult today. I have a one week pass at both but I think I am going to do them consecutively starting with Liberty so I don't burn out.:rolleyes I thought it may be helpful to post the differences in case others are looking into multiple gyms like these as well.:P

I would say if you don't work out then maybe Curves is a good start, but for me, it just wasn't a good work out. I can do better at home with some free weights and my elliptical (well worth the money).

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
