What is the pre operation liquid diet? ?

It really varies per surgeon. My doctor requires a 2-3 week Protein Bars (2) and Protein Shakes (3) diet pre-op. Then the day before surgery we are required to have only clear liquids....I am on Clear Liquids today. Yikes!
