I tweaked two of Eggface's recipes:

Almond Roca Protein Ice Cream

1 cup 2% milk

2 scoops Max Protein chocolate

1 Tbs SF Torani chocolate Syrup

1 Tbs SF Torani Almond Roca Syrup

A couple shakes (1 tsp?) of SF Jello Chocolate pudding mix

1/4 cup of dry rosted, unsalted sliced almonds

Blend until frothy. Cool in Frig. Put in electric soft serve maker. After 10 minutes, add almonds. After 15, ICE CREAM TIME!

sugar free, flourless oatmeal Raisin Nuggets

1 cup Quaker Oats

2 tbs Peanut Butter (or as much as you'd like)

1 tbs butter

2 tbs Torani SF vanilla Syrup

1/4 to 1/2 tsp cinnamon (I always double up on cinnamon, so I use 1/2)

1/4 cup raisins

Put small scoops on baking sheet and bake at 350 for ... I would do 10 minutes. The original recipe was for granola, but I didn't have the right nuts. 15 minutes was a little too long as they were slightly burnt on the bottom. I'd try 10 minutes.

Make 24 nuggets. You don't miss the sugar AT ALL.

Shelly at Eggface is a genius BTW.

A guy who won Top Chef had a recipe in People magazine a couple of weeks ago. I made it and it's great. I've also used the marinade with meat, just switched out the parsley for cilantro and made a Mexican-tasting steak.

2 Lbs. large shrimp, peeled and deveined

3Tbs. chopped garlic

1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil

4 Tbs. lemon juice

2 tsp. salt

1Tbsp red pepper flakes

3 Tbsp chopped parsley

1/4 cup chopped fresh Tomato

1/4 cup white wine

Preheat oven to 375F. Combine all ingredients in an oven-safe pan. Bake for 10 minutes.

So good!

I've been craving Oranges and fruit. So today to spice things up a little and make it look like eye candy, I l got out my clear tumbler with straw and lid. Sliced some oranges and then sliced them again...so I have quarters of orange slices...added ice and then Water. Looks refreshing and is so good! Just a hint of real oranges. I think I'll do the same with some raspberry's or strawberry's this weekend.

Can you imagine, oranges, strawberry's and limes? MMMmmmm

Plus makes it easier to get in your liquids.< /p>

On mushies/soft foods I loved the hungry girl buffalo chicken dip (just google it!). Before I was able to do any chips or crackers, I would dip peeled sliced cucumbers.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
