Today I've always feel hungry! I eat drink Water and still hungry. I have had good food like fruit, water orange juice. meat, and cheese. But nothing seems to fill me up today. I take a break and try not to eat too much but I hate this feeling! Any ideas on how to fix it?

Cucumbers and carrots have very little calories and the fibrousness of them makes you feel full quickly. Could help you out some.

One other thing to realize is that will all the struggles we've gone through trying to lose weight, sometimes losing weight is uncomfortable. We've all felt that many times. We may still have to deal with that from time to time even with surgery. I know for me, if I go to bed too late I get REALLY hungry. I just have to bear it out and/or go to bed and just deal with it.

If your surgery is still fairly new, then the hunger hormones may not be out of your system just yet. It was two months before I really lost my appetite. So- HANG IN THERE!! you can do this, and just try to keep yourself busy when you're too hungry. Suck on some sugar free hard candies. That helps a lot too. OH--and pickles have almost NO calories!! eat some pickles! (Just don't overdo it, there is a lot of sodium;) )

How far out are you? I've noticed that if I feel a little hungry but I know I've eaten, then i take a gas x or tums and that seems to be the problem. I'm not really hungry just gassy or a little acid reflux. I'm only a week out though, so this may not be your problem.

Eeeehhhh, not so much. That's the nice thing about this surgery. You'd have to be crazy out of control, practically endangering your life to really "stretch" your sleeve. The capacity increases very slightly over like.....a couple of years or something. But no, I don't think you stretched your sleeve.

My first two months were VERY hungry. It should get better soon once the Grehlin is more out of your system.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
