My doctor's scale is always off a bit, according to the PA. She told me to go by the one at home.

I like the lower number. I am at the same exact spot you are. Home scale says 212. Gym scale says 208. Use both daily at the same time. So I like the lower one lol. Both digital but gym's is more expensive.

I also like the lower one but it still puzzles me. I'll try the gym scale tomorrow then!

Thanks Minkle! That is a good possibility but I'm hoping for the lower number.

I'll weigh in (ha ha) since we have the same doctor! Go JourneyLite! How do you like it there?

Anyway, the scale there was always within 1.5 pounds of my home scale, usually higher because at home I weigh first thing in the morning in my underwear. My gym scale is 6-7 pounds LESS than home scale and I was hoping to go with that but last week I went to my PCP and their scale agreed with mine. Dangit!

I'd say if the number doesn't change at all for a while or you see sharp increases or decreases then you might want to change the battery. I don't think you need a whole new scale. Or try a third one at the gym or friend's house to be the tie breaker, that's kinda what the PCP scale did for me.

I was sleeved June 25th, 3 weeks ago today! Are you having surgery there or at Jewish? Let me know if you need any tips or pointers about the process. I had been going there for 5 months for the Adipex program to lose weight pre-op and I still felt a little unprepared for the surgery. JourneyLite is so separate from Dr.C's office and Fast Track. I had no idea what to expect.

Ok thanks. I had my surgery June 28th. I loved everything except their preop diet food! Lol but other than that great. I was shocked I didn't have a drain, cath, but also glad too. It was just so smooth.

Oh, dang! I thought your post said 3 weeks pre-op. Whoops! The diet was HORRIBLE! I had to do FOUR weeks of it! After 3 days I was calling Rebecca because I felt horrible. Just curious, why were you at the doctor today? Is everything ok? Because I only have 1 week and 4 week post-op appts... are you still doing purees?

I had my 4 week appt Monday... soft foods for me now too! Yay! I'm glad you're feeling better. I was freaking out that I was getting an infection in my big incision. I emailed Lisa and Dr. C at 8pm one night last week and both responded almost instantly. (I wasn't expecting anything until the next day.) I sent in pics and Lisa said she thought it was a reaction to the sutures, not an infection. It's waaaay better now! I can sleep on my stomach again!

I was worried about my belly button incision. It's healed but still has suture out. I feel no pain. I don't feel sleeved until I eat! So what foods are you eating now?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
