melbelinc 33 Posted July 18, 2012 yikes. I'm not sure about Beans, but better not plan on eating rice anytime soon. Not only should it not be on your diet because of the carbs/starch, but this is the way my surgeon explained rice to me. No matter how well you chew it once it goes in your stomach it will stick back together like a glob and can get stuck. (ok, he described it a little better, but I can't quote it anymore). Moral of that story is rice is a big No-No. Now its the same theory for bread too. You shouldn't be eating it anyway because of the carbs, but you probably won't feel very well because it's very doughy. So you can toast it though. My surgeon said toast it, cut off the crust and cut it into very small pieces.
Minckle 87 Posted July 18, 2012 Beans are great! bread is great as long as it's toasted. Rice, my NUT said should wait until Week 8.

ctaylor86 13 Posted July 18, 2012 To get the best results my nutritionist advised me to stay away from carbs/starch. No potatoes, rice, pastas and she was ok with Beans. I know I'm not gonna go the rest of my life not eating any starch, however I'm definitely staying away until I reach my goal weight then occasionally have starches. 1 mylifeinpink reacted to this

Jennifer.L 2 Posted July 18, 2012 In 5 week I'd lost 41lb I'm very happy with that, and the potatoes are on my diet and I haven't had any problem with it! I keep my meals healthy all the time, I just can't wait to have just a lil of rice but for now the best it's to wait like you guys say I've been doing very good I've never feel sick I and don't want to feel sick now just because I want some rice!! I think it's all depends we are not the same my best friend did it a week before me and she still no able to eat nothing everytime she try to eat something it comes right back, now she is back to only liquid for 3 month! So like my doctor told try one food at the time and see how you feel if you don't feel good stop eating and then try the same food the next week till your body acept it.
