Overcoming The Enemy Of Recovery: Isolation.

Recommended Posts

It is so easy for me to go through my day without communicating to others. Especially easy to go by without sharing what I am really feeling. Why is it so much easier to eat a sandwich, than reach out, touch and be touched back? {:>} rd

Ah, that's a great question! Now that I can't turn to food for comfort, I'm finding that I need people more than I thought. That's one reason I love this site! :)

I don't know, but I know what you mean. I tend to isolate. It's one of the reasons I like this board because this surgery can be somewhat isolating in and of itself since our friends and family can't really relate to what we're going through.

wow....I DO isolate myself, didnt realize I wasnt the only one....I need to think about this one! and yes tthis surgery was hard although now I am at a point where I do not feel so alone. When I was really struggling, I had the mindset that I was alone, because it was/is MY battle. Now that I have gotten over the big humps, I am not as isolated...you have given me some things to ponder!

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
